Privacy Policy

Last Updated: February 11, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use Pixly, a Chrome extension for capturing and styling browser screenshots. Pixly processes screenshots locally on your device and does not upload screenshot content to our servers.

1. Who We Are

Pixly is operated by Mirlan Dzhumagulov, based in Oulu, Finland. We comply with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where it applies.

2. What Data We Collect

License verification data

When you activate Pixly Pro, we collect your license key, a locally generated device ID, and your browser user agent to verify and manage licenses.

Payment metadata

Payments are processed by Polar. We receive basic purchase metadata (such as email and order identifiers) required to issue and manage your license.

Local extension data

Pixly stores settings and cached license status in Chrome local storage. Screenshot data is processed locally and not transmitted to our servers.

Anonymous usage analytics

We may collect anonymous usage metrics (for example, basic feature usage and performance signals) to improve stability. These analytics do not include screenshot content or personal identifiers.

3. How We Use Data

  • Activate and verify Pixly Pro licenses
  • Maintain license integrity and prevent abuse
  • Respond to customer support requests

4. Data Storage & Retention

Local storage

Settings, cached license status, and other app preferences are stored locally in your browser.

Server-side license metadata

License records are retained while your license is active and as needed to meet legal, tax, and compliance obligations.

5. Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data.

Payment processing is handled by Polar. Their policies apply to payment information you submit.

We may use infrastructure providers to operate the service, but they do not receive screenshot content.

6. Cookies & Tracking

The Pixly website uses only necessary cookies (if any) required for basic functionality. We do not use marketing cookies. If we use anonymous analytics, they are configured to avoid collecting personal identifiers.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable security measures to protect license data and service infrastructure. Screenshot content stays on your device.

8. Children’s Privacy

Pixly is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last Updated” date above when changes are made.
